About the Role
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Primary Electrical Engineer to lead our team in delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions for high-voltage substations and transmission systems.
Main Responsibilities
  1. Lay out primary electrical systems, including layout planning, equipment selection, and integration of systems up to 500kV.
  2. Prepare detailed design documentation, such as single-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and equipment specifications.
  3. Ensure designs meet industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and client requirements.
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive design integration.
  5. Conduct technical reviews and feasibility studies to support project planning and execution.
  6. Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in primary electrical design for high-voltage substations and transmission systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software, including AutoCAD, ETAP, and PLS-CADD.
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage electrical equipment and system configurations.
  • Experience in preparing technical specifications and conducting design reviews.
  • Familiarity with Australian grid codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy integration into transmission systems.
  • Exposure to international projects and standards.
