Make a Positive Difference in the Lives of Women and Children
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Domestic Violence Practitioner. This diverse position supports clients through various means, including:
- Children's Counselling: Using trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate approaches to support children impacted by domestic and family violence.
- Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: Conducting intake, risk assessment, and safety planning for women and children.
- Court Support: Providing individual counselling and psychoeducation for women navigating complex legal systems.
- Advocacy and Support: Offering advocacy, referral pathways, safety upgrades, and practical supports for women and their families.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Minimum two years' experience in domestic violence counselling, risk assessment, court support, and group work.
- Demonstrated understanding of gendered violence, relevant legislation, and best practice frameworks.
- A well-developed practice framework that aligns with trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches.
- Experience supporting diverse families with complex needs.
- Strong skills in report writing, case notes, data entry, and professional communication.
