About the Position

We are seeking an experienced medical professional to join our team in Victoria as a Nephrology Consultant.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a physician with expertise in Cardiology, Respiratory & Nephrology medicine and Infectious Diseases to contribute to the delivery of safe, best practice clinical services to patients.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment. They will participate in the provision of high quality General Medicine outpatient and inpatient services.

The role offers opportunities for academic/teaching activities, including training of medical students, junior medical staff and nursing staff involved in the management of medical patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume clinical responsibility for patients under direct care.
  • Conduct public outpatient clinics.
  • Review patients undergoing Dialysis.
  • Provide on call and recall services in association with other Nephrologists/General Medicine Physicians as agreed in the employment contract.
  • Supervise the clinical care provided by Registrars/Hospital Medical Officers involved in the care of nephrology and general medicine patients.

Quality and Clinical Review Activities

  • Participate in the Unit quality activities program, including audit activities, review of deaths and analysis of relevant clinical and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Attend Unit meetings where necessary.
  • Assist in developing and implementing clinical pathways where appropriate.
  • Assist in resolving patient and relative complaints.
