Job Title: Sales Engineer - Mechanical Specialist

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Sales Engineer - Mechanical Specialist to join a well-established flow measurement technology provider in QLD. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and growing sales by providing process measurement consultation and solutions to customers in mining and minerals.

The ideal candidate will have sales engineering experience and a certificate level / diploma level / degree level qualification in mechanical / electrical engineering / instrumentation disciplines. Based in Brisbane, the role offers a competitive salary and on-target bonus.

A normal day will involve creating sales opportunities, working in a flexible manner, and managing customers to create tailored business solutions. The role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to Regional Sales Manager
  • Be conversant with all products features, benefits, and application
  • Continually prospect for new opportunities
  • Maintain regular face-to-face and phone contact with all clients
  • Manage customers to create tailored business solutions
  • Develop and recommend annual sales forecasts for the region/business propose budgets and advise management on the market strategies required to achieve sales targets
  • Plan and manage the sales effort in the region
  • Monitor the market within the region of control and advise management of changes in competition, product availability, quality reports or related matters
  • Collaborate with other internal sales personnel or external as nominated in the planning and executing of special projects and programs within the regions
  • Develop new business opportunities with new and existing clients and attend to key accounts personally to ensure satisfaction
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection and training of sales staff
  • Ensure business negotiations are undertaken under advice from Regional Sales Manager and CEO
