Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior operations assistant to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our depot, ensuring exceptional customer service and providing guidance to our staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Depot Operations: Provide support to our depot manager with day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless delivery of services to our customers.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers in sorting their recyclable products and provide them with the correct refund, ensuring they feel welcomed and assisted throughout the process.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a small team to deliver outstanding customer service, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Manual Handling: Perform manual counting of containers and not afraid of manual handling, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our operations.
  • Sort and Recycle: Sort recyclable items into their correct categories, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Cash Handling: Manage cash transactions accurately and ensure proper record keeping, maintaining confidentiality and security.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure staff adhere to all health and safety procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously look for opportunities to improve efficiency and increase customer satisfaction, promoting a culture of excellence within our organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Experience: Previous customer service, hospitality, or retail experience is highly preferred, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience leading a small or medium team is desirable, showcasing strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge in using Microsoft Teams, Outlook & Excel is required, demonstrating proficiency in technology and data analysis.
  • Licensing: A current driver's licence is necessary, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.
