Lead and Support in Aged Care

This is a challenging clinical position that requires delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for care staff and Enrolled Nurses.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to our residents. They should have experience in clinical and staff management of a unit/facility, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  1. Key Responsibilities:
  2. Lead and support care staff with clinical expertise and mentorship
  3. Manage staff performance, rosters, and professional development
  4. Deliver resident-focused care that respects individual values and beliefs
  5. Conduct assessments and maintain accurate, personalised care plans
  6. Oversee medical interventions and specialised nursing needs
  7. Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all care activities
  8. Communicate effectively with families, staff, and external health providers
  9. Identify and report risks to the Facility Manager
  10. Ensure compliance with Aged Care Standards and organisational policies
  11. Drive continuous quality improvement and stakeholder satisfaction
  12. Implement and monitor infection control procedures
  13. Manage compliments, complaints, and feedback professionally
Essential Skills and Attributes:
  1. Qualifications:
  2. Registered Division 1 Nurse with current National Practicing Registration
  3. Experience:
  4. Two years' experience post completion of graduate year
  5. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing large teams
  6. Excellent problem-solving and care planning skills
  7. Proficient with computerised documentation systems and records
  8. Experience in residential aged care setting
  9. Personal Qualities:
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and is self-motivated
  11. Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team
