Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth or residential

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Locomotive Engineer to optimize locomotive fleet performance and drive maintenance excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and monitor locomotive fleet performance, reliability, and costs to define departmental priorities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to assets and the business through proactive problem-solving.
  • Develop and oversee effective maintenance strategies to ensure high operational standards.
  • Pursue defect elimination through the application of best practice tools and techniques (RCA, 5 Whys etc).
  • Provide technical support and recommendations based on data analysis, testing, and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Foster a strong safety culture in all engineering and operational activities.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Current WA C Class Driver's License.
  • 3-4 years of rollingstock experience within Mining, Bulk Material, or Heavy Industry sectors.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt new technologies related to locomotives.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Knowledge of EAM, CMMS software including basic SAP operation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Navisworks.

Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum
