Position Summary

We are seeking a Group Chief Financial Officer to join our dynamic team at UMENCO, a rapidly expanding Australian ready-to-wear brand with a substantial retail presence.

In this pivotal role, the Chief Financial Officer will oversee the formulation, management, and execution of the financial strategies of the organization.

Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating with other executives, the CFO will play a crucial role in the executive leadership team, providing strategic financial insights and support across all financial, accounting, and operational functions to ensure that planning, budgeting, operations, sales, and marketing initiatives align with the company's revenue and growth objectives.

The ideal candidate will lead and nurture the finance team, ensuring the accuracy of financial management information, as well as compliance with taxation and other regulatory requirements.

Additionally, the CFO will enhance and streamline administrative processes, internal controls, and finance-related IT systems, while implementing financial reporting tools, dashboards, and templates throughout the organization.

The Chief Financial Officer will possess a deep understanding of business operations, utilizing this knowledge to guide strategic planning, budgeting, and performance evaluation processes. They will be responsible for assessing and reporting on the financial implications of any proposed developments, new store openings, capital investments, or acquisitions.

Moreover, the CFO will ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory compliance across the business, both domestically and internationally, serving as the primary contact for external advisors, including legal counsel, auditors, and financial institutions.

The successful candidate will be a certified practicing accountant with at least five years of experience in a financial management role within a retail specialty or FMCG environment, ideally in a global context.

Exceptional problem-solving skills, analytical and technical proficiency, strong IT and numerical capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles are essential. The candidate should also demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills.
