Job Title: Electrical Compliance Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that positively impacts the built environment and community.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to join our team as an Electrical Compliance Officer. As a key member of the Practitioner Compliance directorate, you will be responsible for providing specialist regulatory knowledge and skills within the electrical industry, with a focus on compliance and regulation of electrical installations and work.

The role involves conducting inspections and investigations, preparing and implementing compliance programs, developing and scheduling desk and site-based audits and inspections, and assisting in the preparation and provision of presentations to management and stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing expert advice on electrical installations and work;
  • Conducting inspections and investigations;
  • Preparing and implementing compliance programs;
  • Developing and scheduling desk and site-based audits and inspections;
  • Assisting in the preparation and provision of presentations to management and stakeholders;
  • Reviewing program documentation and drafting inspection reports;
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the team and Department to raise awareness and education in the industry.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or equivalent qualification;
  • Strong ability to interpret legislation and regulations;
  • Ability to work within a team of itinerant inspectors to achieve positive regulatory outcomes;
  • Current NSW Driver's license and willingness to travel and work throughout NSW;
  • Current NSW Qualified Supervisor - Electrical license, equivalent or possess the required qualifications to obtain relevant licence.
