About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Safety Training Specialist to join our team at the Department of Home Affairs. As an Operational Safety Training Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality operational safety training to our officers, ensuring their safety and well-being during workplace and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and delivery of operational safety training programs to ABF officers
  • Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of operational safety training materials to enhance operational safety capabilities within the Department
  • Participate in Quality Assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of training delivery
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Operational Safety Training Unit projects
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest training and development requirements to maintain currency as an Operational Safety Trainer
Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain medical, fitness, and psychometric requirements relevant to the role
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a current Use of Force qualification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a current ABF Operational Safety Trainer qualification
  • Ability to obtain an advanced first aid and advanced resuscitation certificates
  • A current Australian driver's license
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or higher and vocational training delivery experience

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
