Paediatric Sedation Service Nurse

We are seeking an experienced paediatric nurse to join our sedation service team, delivering high-quality patient care in a multidisciplinary environment.

Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating timely and effective care interventions, developing best-practice protocols and procedures, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing person-centred nursing care to paediatric patients in a collaborative team environment.
  • Collaborating with the Nurse Consultant and Anaesthetic Consultants to coordinate care interventions and implement best-practice protocols.
  • Developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance sedation service delivery.
  • Leading clinical teaching and mentoring programs to support colleague development and professional growth.
  • Contributing to service planning and problem-solving to improve service delivery within the Women's and Children's Health Network.

Requirements:

  • Registered (or eligible) Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding (or eligible to hold) a current practicing certificate.
  • Current Paediatric Life Support certification or willingness to complete the WCHN Paediatric Intermediate Life Support program.
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in paediatric nursing with demonstrated clinical competence.
  • Proven leadership skills, including strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Experience in developing clinical policies, procedures, and managing service-related projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, prioritise workloads, and lead change initiatives.
