Job Opportunity: Sustainability Leadership

This is a key role that drives our university's environmental sustainability agenda.

As Senior Manager, Sustainability, you will lead the implementation of our Environmental Sustainability Plan, ensuring delivery of key initiatives and alignment with strategic goals.

You will provide expert guidance on environmentally sustainable design standards across major infrastructure projects, representing the university in internal and external forums to influence and advocate for sustainability outcomes.

The role also involves managing energy and carbon strategies, including renewable energy procurement and development of a revised carbon management plan, as well as overseeing key reporting obligations to ensure compliance and transparency.

This full-time position will be based at our Callaghan Campus.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate sustainability with a strong track record of delivering initiatives and driving operational outcomes.
  • Understanding of environmental legislation across all government levels, including applicable standards and codes of practice.
  • Strong project management and leadership capability, with the ability to guide a direct report and provide strategic oversight.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across senior leadership, project teams, and external partners.
