Job Description

As a casual rail track labourer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of railway infrastructure. This involves removing and replacing worn and damaged rails, sleepers, and switches, as well as spotting machinery and mobile plant.

You will also be required to use powered hand tools and equipment, perform site clean-up duties, and demonstrate your ability to maintain high standards in both safety and quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders is essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to Work Unsupervised: You must be able to work independently and take initiative when necessary.
  • Demonstrated Experience in Rail Construction: A strong understanding of rail construction principles and practices is required.
  • Qualifications: Hold a valid Construction Induction (White Card) & Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card, Cert II in Rail Infrastructure, RISI - Safely Access the Rail Corridor & Valid CAT 3 Medical, and a Valid Drivers Licence Class 'C' or 'HR'.
