About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to capitalize on their expertise in business development, sales, or a related field. With a strong reputation for reliability and innovation, we deliver high-quality structural and civil construction projects across Queensland.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue opportunities with developers, civil contractors, and commercial builders to drive new business growth.
- Build and maintain relationships across the construction industry in Queensland, fostering a network of key contacts and partnerships.
- Foster face-to-face networking, site visits, outbound calls, and industry events to generate leads and stay ahead of the competition.
- Maintain regular communication with current and prospective clients to understand their needs and preferences.
- Monitor tender portals and industry platforms daily for new opportunities, staying up-to-date on the latest market trends.
- Track all tender activity including EOIs, RFQs, submissions, and outcomes, ensuring seamless project management.
- Liaise with internal teams to assist with pricing opportunities and managing submission timelines, driving project success.
- Drive brand awareness through basic marketing activities, promoting our company's value proposition.
- Log all client interactions, meetings, leads, and project activity in our CRM or internal tracking system, maintaining accurate records.
- Work toward clear performance KPIs including number of new contacts made, meetings attended, tenders submitted, and follow-up for feedback.
- Provide weekly or monthly reporting to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
About You

As a successful Business Development Manager, you will have a commercial understanding of the construction lifecycle, confidence in networking, and the ability to build relationships with professionals at all levels.
Requirements
- Previous experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably in construction or civil engineering.
- Understanding of tendering and project workflows for commercial-scale construction.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills, enabling effective stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to think creatively about where and how to source new business, staying ahead of the competition.
- Knowledge of the Brisbane and broader Queensland construction market, ensuring local expertise.
- Basic familiarity with marketing tools, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office, supporting effective project management.
