Job Description

As an Automation Engineer at Embedded Expertise, you will play a critical role in the delivery of automation work packages across various Capital Projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work on process line equipment upgrades, including electrical and automation equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming and Commissioning
    • Develop and implement PLC programming and commissioning plans for automation work packages.
    • Design and implement safe access designs, programming, and commissioning for automation systems.
  • Electrical and Automation Systems Design
    • Design and develop electrical and automation control systems, including Human Machine Interface (HMI) development.
    • Create project technical performance specifications and functional descriptions for automation systems.
  • Project Coordination and Communication
    • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure timely completion of automation work packages.
    • Prepare technical reports and client correspondences/presentations to project stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Develop and maintain expertise in PLC programming, SCADA, and communication protocols for automation systems.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in automation technologies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Electrical or Automation engineering background, including Instrumentation and PLC systems, with an associated Automation Controls, Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering degree.
    • Minimum 3 years relevant industrial experience and participation in the development of engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Technical Skills
    • Extensive experience with PLC level, SCADA, or communication protocols required for semi-auto or full automation of tools or material handling systems.
    • Strong preference for experience with Siemens 300 and 1500 series PLC.
