Job Title: Experienced Murex Environment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as an Experienced Murex Environment Specialist. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work with a large financial institution on their Murex program.

This role involves working in a demanding environment, taking ownership of tasks to completion, and supporting platform teams offshore. You will contribute to building a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipeline and deliver projects to deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple parallel releases, ensuring timely availability of environments, code management, and deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with Murex Upgrade/migration on Murex 3.1.4/48 is an added advantage.
  • Deployment in cloud with latest tools, exposure to AWS, Jenkins, Team City, and knowledge of CI/CD pipeline.
  • Innovate continuously with automation of environment-related activities, Unix scripting, Jenkins, and Teach City.
  • Contribute to the Continuous Improvement of the release process.
  • Work on Murex Batch configuration and Management.
  • System backups, w.r.t UNIX and Database.
  • Establish and maintain risk assessments to identify and assess material risks.
  • Drive continuous improvements of existing processes and procedures.
  • Undertake line management responsibilities, including developing skills and knowledge of the team.
  • Build and maintain the capability of the team/business unit to ensure levels of service and quality of deliverables meet needs.
  • Manage team operations through effective and efficient management of team finances, operational risks, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Supports and maintains technology within budget and headcount targets while being fit for purpose.
  • Ensures direct reports take active roles in development of people, attracting, retaining, and developing talent.
  • Provides senior executives with relevant management information and reports and escalates concerns as appropriate.
  • Lead and influence people to drive business performance and deliver results.
  • Comply with relevant Group Policies, testing and certifying the adequacy and effectiveness of controls on a regular basis.
  • Establish and document operating procedures which include relevant controls to meet Group and local policy requirements.
  • Establish and own a governance structure for identifying and managing risk, and defining and approving Risk Appetite.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years' experience in Murex DataMart, MLC, and Murex MxML exchange architecture.
  • Strong experience in Java, Autosys, and Linux.
  • Experience and knowledge of Capital Markets is essential.
  • Willingness to work across shifts and weekends is a requirement for this senior role.
  • Experience in supervising Murex environment implementation and maintenance across development, UAT, and PROD.
  • ITIL knowledge and Foundation certification is a must.
  • Knowledge on Cloud platforms and latest RPA tools and should have worked in automating operational processes.
  • Able to automate the deployment process and experienced with CI/CD approach.
  • Good understanding on incident and problem management, Release Management, Configuration Management processes.
  • Strong experience in Environment planning and allocation, build/refresh, End-to-end support.
  • Performs routine administrative/technical tasks to appropriately maintain the system.
  • Hands-on with the Murex Batch configuration and Management.
  • Should possess good knowledge on Murex Services and environment management.
  • Should have good understanding of Murex data model architecture.
  • Murex configuration.
  • Murex EOD process.
  • Exposure to DEVOPS practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more Service Management disciplines such as incident, Problem, Change IT, Continuity or Capacity.
  • Knowledge of CMS and agile methodology.
  • Usage of release tools like - Bitbucket, Nexus, HPSA, TeamCity, Jira, Jenkins, ServiceNow, Autosys etc.
  • Relevant industry standard toolsets and processes to drive up customer service within an IT environment.
  • Technical solution design experience and start-to-end solutions.
