Job Opportunity

Play a key role in the tertiary supervision component of student professional experience placements. The position is ideal for those who enjoy mentoring and guiding teachers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the progress of the teacher education student while they are working at a school to fulfill their professional experience course requirements.
  • Arrange a visit to the school to discuss the TES's progress with the TES and their mentor teacher(s).
  • Observe at least one lesson taught by the teacher education student, complete a lesson evaluation form and debrief afterwards.
  • Act on any matters of concern to the teacher education student or the host school.
  • Clarify issues relating to assessments to be completed during the professional experience.

Requirements:

  • Practicing Christian with active church involvement.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Completion of a bachelors or masters degree in teaching.
  • Previous experience in a teaching position at a school or early childhood education center and previous experience supervising teachers in schools and/or early learning centers.
  • Understanding of the mission of vocational and higher education in Christian schools and/or early learning centers.
  • Knowledge of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and/or the ACECQA National Quality Standards.
  • Proven leadership, people and communication skills.
  • Customer service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels.
  • Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
  • Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
  • Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
  • Time management/organization: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
