Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Heavy Equipment Operator, responsible for safely operating cranes and other heavy equipment on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate cranes to lift and move heavy objects with precision and accuracy.
  • Deliver and collect materials from construction sites in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate stock counts of precast props to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Inspect crane equipment regularly and perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent downtime.
  • Ensure loads are within approved weight limits to avoid accidents and injuries.
  • Loading and unloading precast props using cranes or forklifts in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Transporting goods and materials as directed by supervisors or clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A valid HR Truck Licence (Heavy Combination) and a High Risk Forklift License (an advantage).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of mechanical and technical activities.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and distance judgment skills to operate heavy equipment safely.
  • Ability to develop and follow procedures and standards to ensure quality work.
  • Confident communication skills to build relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with adaptability to tackle unexpected challenges.
