Role Summary:

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Engagement Specialist to lead and oversee the delivery of community and stakeholder engagement strategies across diverse projects.

This role requires a high degree of autonomy and leadership, with direct accountability for delivering results. You will design strategies, resolve issues, and advise clients while ensuring stakeholder concerns are managed effectively and reputations are protected.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and delivering tailored stakeholder and community engagement strategies.
  • Providing quality oversight and guidance for team members, ensuring consistent professional delivery.
  • Serving as primary client contact for nominated projects, offering expert advice on engagement risks, reputational issues, and communication strategies.
  • Coordinating hybrid engagement activities, maintaining strong communication flows, and ensuring stakeholders are informed and involved.
  • Facilitating complex consultation activities, including workshops, forums, and community meetings, often in sensitive or high-profile contexts.

You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including community members, councils, industry organisations, Indigenous groups, and state and local government agencies. Projects span urban fringe areas, the Adelaide Hills, and rural South Australia, with some overnight travel required.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, project management, community development, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' demonstrated experience in stakeholder and community engagement, preferably across infrastructure, energy, or defence projects.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • Proven leadership capability, with experience supervising, mentoring, or guiding staff.
