Drug and Alcohol Therapist

Job Overview
This role involves providing person-centred care to promote positive health outcomes. The successful candidate will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in collaboration with clients and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in therapeutic relationships with clients, families, groups and communities within the Drug & Alcohol Service.
- Act as an appropriate role model, promoting culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values.
- Develop and deliver high-quality drug and alcohol counselling services, including group programs.
- Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Contribute to quality improvement activities and service evaluation processes.
Requirements
- Demonstrated clinical experience in the drug and alcohol field and specialist knowledge of child protection, domestic violence, mental illness and cultural diversity.
- Extensive experience providing drug and alcohol counselling and developing and facilitating group programs.
- High level ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence with the ability to travel in accordance with position responsibilities.
