The CSIRO Industry PhD Program is a four-year research training initiative that focuses on applied research to benefit industry by solving real-world challenges.

  • A four-year Project Expense and Development package of approximately AUD $13,000 per annum
  • A 60-day Industry Engagement component with the industry partner
  • A structured professional development and training program to develop your applied research skills

Candidates will work on projects such as "Project 2: Techniques and Frameworks for Enabling Post-Quantum Cryptography Migration", which develops techniques for post-quantum cryptography migration to secure critical infrastructure from quantum attacks.

Key Requirements:

  • Must advise on their legal entitlement to work in Australia on a permanent basis
  • Must meet participating university PhD admission requirements
  • Must meet university English language requirements
  • Must not have previously completed a PhD
  • Must be able to commence the Program in the year of the offer
  • Must enrol as a full-time PhD student. Part-time arrangements may be considered if approved by the supervisory team and in accordance with university policy
  • Must be prepared to be located at the project location(s) approved by the host university, and comply with external enrolment procedures
  • Must undergo onboarding to CSIRO, including passing mandatory government background checks and completing other CSIRO requirements
