Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving heavy-duty trucks to transport and deliver cargo or materials across various locations. This role requires excellent navigation skills, as drivers will need to plan routes using maps or satellite tracking systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive trucks with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver cargo or materials.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles to maintain operational safety and record any defects.
  • Load and unload cargo with multiple drops, ensuring load restraint is performed according to heavy vehicle load restraint guidelines.
  • Secure proof of deliveries and return relevant paperwork to the office in a timely manner.
  • Report any incidents encountered on the road to a dispatcher and follow accident procedures if necessary.
  • Refuel, clean the truck, and wash windows after each trip.
  • Maintain truck logs in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Keep records of materials and products transported.
  • Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.

Requirements:

  • AQF Certificate II or III.
  • A valid Australian heavy truck licence.
  • A minimum of 1 year's recent heavy/multi-combination driving experience.
  • Demonstrate sound geographic knowledge of Australia-wide routes.
  • Be highly reliable with a strong focus on safety and customer service, with good communication skills.
  • Fatigue Management Certificate.
  • Able to pass drug and alcohol tests and a pre-employment medical.
  • MSIC Card or willingness to obtain one.
  • Load restraint certificate.
  • Require DG Licence or willingness to obtain one.
