Truck Mechanic Position Overview

This role is ideal for a skilled and experienced heavy vehicle technician looking to take their career to the next level. As a Truck Mechanic at Hartwigs Trucks Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for performing a range of tasks including servicing and repairing vehicles to the highest standards.



Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience



Job Description


  • Perform a range of tasks including servicing and repairing vehicles to the highest standards
  • Advise workshop staff of any additional work required
  • Document all work performed, including cause and correction, and recommend any work not carried out during service and repair
  • Ensure customer vehicles are left as they were found, including cleanliness and minor adjustments
  • Supervise apprentices as assigned
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any safety issues or defects to management immediately
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain necessary parts
  • Attend dealership and service department meetings and online training as requested
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop area


Requirements


  • Trade Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
  • Current driver's license equivalent to the role (car, light duty, truck, and agriculture)
  • Technical knowledge as per qualification specifications
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Organizational and time management skills
