Qualifications & experience

• Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology.
• At least 3 years experience working as a Speech Pathologist.
• Speech Pathology Australia Registration.
• Experienced in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Trained in LAMP preferred.
• Experience working with clients that are neurodiverse.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Familiarity with NDIS regulations and compliance requirements

Key responsibilities

• Conduct assessments, developing treatment plans and providing intervention services for children with speech and language disorders and or delays.
• Setting specific, measurable goals for therapy.
• Selecting appropriate therapeutic activities and exercises.
• Implementing exercises to improve articulation, fluency, voice, and language comprehension.
• Provide guidance and support to clients and their families, empowering them to actively participate in therapy sessions and carry over strategies at home.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
• Teaching alternative communication methods, such as AAC or sign.
• Writing NDIS and other reports.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, adhering to ethical and legal guidelines.
• Adhere to professional standards and codes of conduct, ensuring the provision of quality care and ethical practices.
• Stay updated on current research, advancements, and best practices in paediatric speech pathology, attending professional development opportunities and conferences as required.
