Job Title: Award Management Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an Award Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the Service's honours and awards policies/procedures, including researching and assessing nominations for awards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer the Service's honours and awards policies/procedures, including researching and assessing nominations for awards.
  • Advise on budget requirements and coordinate corporate level expenditure for honours and awards activities within the Service.
  • Provide secretariat services and administrative support to the Honours and Awards Committee, including the preparation of agenda, minutes and briefing material.
  • Coordinate action arising from the resolutions of the Committee.
  • Provide policy advice on issues relating to honours and awards.
  • Provide consultancy and advisory services to the Committee, the Commissioner and the Service's senior executive members on award related matters.
  • Coordinate award presentation ceremonies attended by the Minister, the Commissioner, senior executives and dignitaries.
  • Prepare correspondence and documentation, such as submissions, reports, awards and letters, relating to the Service's honours and awards systems, procedures and policies.
  • Liaise and maintain effective networks with all levels of the QPS, relevant government and non-organisations and representatives of external organisations.
  • Supervise the performance of, provide guidance to, and identify training needs for, subordinate administrative staff.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of honours and awards policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • High level of organisational and time management skills.
