Job Title: Obstetric Research Midwife

We are seeking a dedicated midwife with an interest in obstetric care and clinical research to join our South Western Sydney Obstetric Research Group.

  1. This role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance your specialist skills, contribute to meaningful research, and be involved in multidisciplinary education.
  2. As part of our services for pregnant women, we are involved in several clinical implementation and research studies aimed at ensuring high-quality maternity care for women across the SWSLHD.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collecting blood samples and swabs, ensuring the clinic can accommodate a higher volume of patients for research purposes.
  • Supporting ongoing research activities and contributing to the continued growth of our biobank.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, families, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based midwifery care.
  • Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
