Job Description

A key position is available for a Staff Specialist to lead the Obstetrics & Gynaecology team at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, mentoring junior medical staff, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

The role involves reviewing and monitoring women attending obstetric outpatient services, providing clinical governance and leadership, and actively surveilling obstetric Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Additionally, the successful candidate will develop and expand models of care to meet the needs of women, including continuity of care for high-risk and low-risk patients.

The ideal candidate will have current clinical practice of a high standard, demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management, as well as experience in teaching and training. They will also be able to work collaboratively with other staff and practitioners in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or equivalent specialist recognition
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice
  • Commitment to continuing self-education and development, including participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development
