About the Role

The Explosives Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating drill and blast activities at Tarrawonga Mine, reporting to the Drill and Blast Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Drill and Blast Superintendent to organize pre-blasting clean up and preparations, ensuring patterns are prepared to the required standard.
  • Oversee drilling, loading, and firing of shots.
  • Maintain the Drill and Blast component of the schedule and communicate sequence and requirements to Operations and Tech Services.
  • Liaise with explosive and drilling suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Develop and maintain plans, designs, and blast packs for all shots.
Requirements
  • OCE ticket or Shot Firer's certificate (desirable).
  • Experience in providing drilling and blasting activities within an Open Cut mining environment.
  • Knowledge of risk management, safe work practices, and statutory requirements to create and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrated safe and productive management of mine plant and facilities.
