Financial Services Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill this financial services role. As a Financial Services Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of assigned daily reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform reconciliation and settlement activities as allocated, ensuring timeliness and quality of deliverables.
  • Prepare journals as required in performance of financial services for project.
  • Identify and investigate variances between General Ledger and supporting reports.
  • Manage reconciliation issues until resolved and streamline solutions.
  • Ensure data transfers between various system interfaces and third-party agents are accurate, meet documented controls, and are analyzed against expected trends and performance indicators.
  • Ensure GL balances and variances to supporting reports comply with any relevant business rules, KPI or conforming balances requirements.
  • Manage chargebacks, banking file analysis, third-party vendor reporting, patron refunds and operator queries as assigned with task performance.
  • Provide variance analysis and aging information for assigned account balances.
  • Prepare month-end and year-end reporting for assigned General Ledger accounts, with variance analysis and commentary for management review and client submission.
Requirements
  • Ability to work autonomously and also at direction but also form part of a multifaceted team.
  • High level communication skills both verbal and in writing.
  • Ability to thoroughly investigate.
  • Ability to prioritize work, completes multiple tasks, and meets deadlines.
  • Able to concentrate, focus, and perform analyses.
  • High level computer skills including accounting.
  • Must have excellent teamwork skills.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet required deadlines and key performance indicators.
  • Have full working rights in Australia.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Accounting Degree qualified.
  • CA/CPA qualified or studying towards is desirable.
  • Power BI knowledge is desirable.
  • Highly adept analytical and numerical skills required.
  • High level of investigatory skills.
  • Ability to develop and design customized reporting requirements.
  • Minimum 2 years accounting and reconciliation experience.
  • Must be competent with personal computer and be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience desirable.
