Job Overview

Clinical nurse consultants play a pivotal role in advancing best practice and driving quality healthcare by collaborating with healthcare providers, consumer groups, and developing clinical practice standards.

The CNC will work across hospitals and communities to ensure continuity of care for patients with melanoma and their carers, fostering a seamless patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement and evaluate tailored care management plans that enhance patient outcomes, resulting in improved health and wellbeing.
  • Promote evidence-based practice, clinical excellence, research, and professional leadership within the melanoma care setting, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Lead continuous improvement in melanoma care coordination, promoting a culture aligned with NSW Health CORE values: Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment.
Requirements:
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA. At least 5 years FTE post-registration experience, with at least 3 years in the specialty field, demonstrating expertise and dedication.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in melanoma care, staying up-to-date with the latest developments.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams; ability to identify and respond to care needs, providing exceptional patient support.
