About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Strategy Consultant to join our US Strategy team at Markel Corporation. As a key member of our global strategy team, you will collaborate directly with senior business leaders to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive business growth and market leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of the overall strategy for Markel's US insurance platform and corporate shared services.
  • Provide thought leadership to business partners on business-critical topics, including product and growth strategies, operational and organizational challenges, and opportunities.
  • Owning end-to-end projects, crafting insightful presentations that summarize analysis and presenting them to senior leaders to influence decision making.
  • Conduct market research, identify and monitor industry trends, and conduct competitive analysis.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders to help them develop and grow their divisions.
  • Support the Executive Committee with ad hoc requests in a timely, accurate, and insightful way.
  • Ensure seamless project delivery through strong project management skills.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in management consulting or a similar in-house role, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • High proficiency in problem-solving, with the ability to identify business challenges and opportunities, break them down into logical components, and think creatively about solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior leaders and effectively challenge the status quo to shift the way of thinking.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to deliver on multiple, varied projects simultaneously, operate with tight deadlines, and sometimes limited information.
