Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented content creator to join our dedicated team in Rockhampton. As a key member of the national news team, you will be responsible for creating engaging online stories, video content, and audio news packages that showcase the best of our region.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and present news bulletins, Q&As, interviews, and packages across all platforms, including breaking stories.
  • Write digital articles for the ABC News online and create video content for broadcast, digital, and social media platforms.
  • Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to develop and distribute new content ideas that achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences.
  • Identify and develop local content that can be shared with other content teams across the country on multiple platforms.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering breaking and original journalism for multiple platforms.
  • Proficient editorial skills, including the ability to source and analyze information and exercise reliable judgment.
  • A current and valid driver's license.
