We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. As a Mechanical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and management of facility assets, infrastructure, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical studies, analyses, investigations, and consultations to identify solutions that meet business needs.
  • Develop detailed requirements for facility infrastructure, equipment, and system modification, replacement, upgrade, and/or recapitalization.
  • Provide technical support to engineering and design staff in various engineering tasks, including installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electrical equipment and systems.
  • Review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and systems, from general concepts through to detailed designs.
  • Plan, coordinate, administer, and execute tasks in support of critical infrastructure configuration change.
  • Provide technical recommendations, input, direction, and advice on facilities system, infrastructure, and equipment reliability, operation, maintenance, life-cycle management, and costing.
  • Develop ROM costing estimates in support of facility infrastructure, equipment, and system modification, upgrade, replacement, and/or recapitalization.
  • Evaluate operational systems, equipment, processes, and infrastructure in support of general and targeted optimization and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all site's environmental health and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification
  • Certificate IV Field: Mechanical/Refrigeration/HVAC or other relevant related discipline
  • Driver's Licence

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in progressively responsible Mechanical/Refrigeration/HVAC positions within the Government Services or related industries.
  • Experience in areas such as power generation and distribution, heat transfer, HVAC system balancing, load management, data centre cooling systems, configuration management, building management and control systems, facilities operation and maintenance, project management, and excellent communication skills.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
