Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to customers and technicians via phone, email, and in-person visits.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and cranes, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Parts Coordination: Coordinate with parts departments to ensure timely delivery of replacement parts.
  • Field Breakdowns: Attend to field breakdowns and repair cranes in a timely manner.
  • Service Reports: Maintain accurate service reports and submit them in a timely manner.
  • Communication: Communicate with factories and COEs for repair processes and diagnostic information.
  • Training and Development: Train distributors in the commissioning of new products and provide feedback on component failure to factories.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and troubleshoot warranty problems beyond the scope of the distributor or customer.
  • Collaboration: Interact with MCG-based personnel on matters pertaining to service materials, product requirements, availability, and code compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Plan and coordinate activities to investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems, and analyze reports to determine trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with 5 years or greater of technical service and support-related working experience, preferably in the crane industry or heavy equipment industry.
  • Experience: OEM or dealer experience in heavy equipment/Crane background is advantageous, as is specialist training in the crane industry or on Manitowoc Cranes.
  • Skills: Trade certificate in either Mechanical or Electrical trades, with a high level of automotive and Canbus electrical diagnostic skills, fault-finding and diagnostic skills in Electrical, hydraulic, engine, drive-line, braking, and general maintenance and repairs in Heavy equipment or LBCC and Mobile Cranes, and ability to read and work with electronic and hydraulic schematics.
