This role is a 12-month assignment with a busy team in a Federal government agency. The opportunity is suitable for project professionals to contribute to projects within the social sector.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in project management and coordination activities, monitoring and reviewing program and project activities against plans.
- Contribute to the development and management of project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency's project management framework.
- Provide advice, procedural guidance, and technical expertise in specific areas of project work.
- Perform research work and analysis, including contributing to the preparation of reports on relevant project activities.
- Contribute to regular project reporting, including status updates and exception reports.
- Draft a range of written material, including business cases, plans, executive briefs, and corporate documentation for review.
- Monitor project budgets, review and report on expenditure, and assist with procurement and contract management.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and benefits.
- Contribute to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
- A strong understanding of agile project management methodology to plan, monitor, and deliver work packages.
- The ability to meet critical deadlines.
- To develop and maintain project artefacts.
- An ability to work with minimal supervision as an effective team member, using initiative to manage competing priorities.
- Experience initiating, establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely through written briefs, reporting, and presentations.
- Ability to apply judgement to resolve issues and make evidence-informed decisions.
- Understanding and applying privacy and accessibility guidelines.
- Advanced communication skills and ability to work well with stakeholders and manage expectations.
- Well-developed Microsoft 365 skills (Word, PowerPoint, Planner).
