Senior Customer Engagement Specialist

The Bureau's Aviation Program plays a vital role in the business relationships with service delivery partners, government stakeholders, and customers in the aviation sector.

As the sole provider of aviation meteorological services to the aviation industry within Australian Flight Information Regions, the program meets Australia's obligations under the Convention on International Civil Aviation. The program also contributes to implementing the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASRs), which require pilots to plan flights using Bureau products.

The Aerodrome Engagement team increases proactive engagement with aerodrome operators and manages relationships with Airservices Australia. The team works closely with the Aviation Customer Engagement team and observation delivery teams across the Bureau to deliver value to the Australian aviation industry.

We seek an experienced and motivated senior customer engagement specialist who understands the aviation sector and builds deep relationships with customers at all levels.

The successful applicant will possess high initiative and leadership capabilities, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and experience working across teams, technical domains, and project management.

They will be skilled at influencing, experienced at senior levels of organisations, and contribute to planning aviation meteorological services.

Key Duties:
  • Lead a small team responsible for engaging with aerodrome operators and associations.
  • Deepen and broaden customer and stakeholder relationships with the aerodrome sector.
  • Develop a structured approach to understanding and supporting outcomes in the aerodrome sector.
  • Provide direction to multi-disciplinary teams and support internal business areas interacting with aerodromes.
  • Develop business proposals and customer agreements for new product offerings.
