Principal Policy Advisor, Legislation

The National Transport Commission seeks a highly experienced Principal Policy Advisor to contribute towards Australia's transport reform agenda.

  • This role involves providing high quality legislative and legal policy advice on matters across the NTC Work Program.
  • Key responsibilities include identifying and advising on new and emerging legal, legislative and policy issues and their implications, as well as contributing to developing nationally consistent regulatory frameworks.
  • You will also draft and review a range of legislative documentation, including drafting instructions, bills, statutory instruments and Parliamentary materials dealing with sensitive and complex issues.

To be considered for this role, you will have extensive experience and knowledge of legislative processes and associated policy, including parliamentary and legal requirements.

A strong track record of delivering legislative reform outcomes is essential, ideally in transport or aligned public policy setting.
