Audit Senior Manager - Leading Chartered Accounting Firm

The Role: Audit Senior Manager

The Audit Senior Manager will oversee the audit engagement, defining the audit strategy in collaboration with the Partner and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality work for review.
  • Manage the audit process, addressing audit risk issues and accounting technical matters effectively.
  • Balance 40% hands-on auditing with 60% leadership responsibilities, including reviewing, delegating, and mentoring.
  • Provide guidance and support to audit team members, fostering a collaborative and professional development-focused culture.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices in audit processes.
  • Establish and confirm budgets for audit engagements.
  • Assist in presenting findings and discussing issues with the Audit Committee.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including documentation of internal controls.
  • Develop business opportunities and leverage existing relationships to generate additional work.
  • Support the due diligence process as needed.
  • Prepare expert reports and draft invoices while following up with clients.
  • Identify areas for improvement in client business processes and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Lead internal training sessions to enhance team capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide integrated solutions that meet client needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • CA/CPA Qualified with at least 6 years of experience in public practice.
  • Strong technical audit knowledge.
  • Experience with ASX listed entities is essential.
  • Ability to perform analytical and high-value work.
  • Proven experience in leading and maintaining high-performance teams.
  • Main point of contact for most engagements, often interacting with senior client staff.
  • Deep understanding of client needs and the firm's operations, with the ability to suggest improvements.
  • Proficient in writing technical letters and reports.
