This role involves supporting cyber security governance, risk and compliance across multiple domains. The Information Security Governance Specialist will work closely with teams to enhance cyber resilience and ensure alignment with regulatory obligations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessing and testing security controls to identify areas for improvement;
- Managing workflows to ensure timely completion of tasks;
- Conducting assessments and gap analyses to inform strategic decisions;
- Maintaining accurate records and dashboards to track progress;
- Preparing reports and presentations to communicate risk and compliance status to stakeholders;
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and critical risk indicators (KRIs) to inform decision-making;
- Cross-functional collaboration to build relationships with stakeholders and drive business outcomes;
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing enhancements;
- Supporting team members to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Strong knowledge of industry environments, architecture, technologies, and IT services with expertise in cyber risk management;
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to reach consensus among diverse views;
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities;
- Demonstrated expertise in regulations (e.g., Privacy Act 1988, Critical Infrastructure Act 2018), standards (e.g., PCI DSS), and frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO );
- General IT experience including knowledge of development, operations, and change management;
- Experience with project management methodologies to help teams meet deadlines;
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to address complex technology challenges.
