Job Title: Cyber Security Governance Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Governance Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to shape and manage IT security policies and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive IT security policies and procedures.
  • Lead cyber security awareness initiatives to educate staff on best practices.
  • Provide expert advice on security measures and ensure alignment with key standards and regulations.
  • Support the organization's Information Security Management System (ISMS) using industry-standard frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy.
  • Run training programs to boost staff knowledge of cyber security.
  • Advise on security controls and help ensure compliance with privacy and security requirements.
  • Assist with audits by gathering evidence, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.
  • Communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Security Policy Development: Ability to create and maintain comprehensive IT security policies and procedures.
  • Security Frameworks Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-standard frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy.
  • Training & Awareness: Experience in running cyber security education programs for staff.
  • Risk & Compliance: Understanding of privacy principles, risk management, and legal compliance in IT.
  • Audit Participation: Skills in supporting security audits, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.
  • Communication: Strong ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Capable of building relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Able to stay updated with changes in legislation, standards, and best practices in cyber security.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology or related technical field and/or relevant experience.
