Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, you will ensure rehabilitation, safety, and security within the correctional system. Your role is essential in delivering holistic, person-centred care to patients with mental health concerns, fostering positive outcomes, and contributing to a respectful and decent environment for staff and inmates alike.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary care based on a patient-centered model, allowing patients to actively participate in their health management while collaborating closely with correctional staff
- Educate custodial patients on healthy living and lifestyle choices
- Assist with reintegration into the community and ensure continuity of care
- Address the diverse needs of custodial patients, including men, women, and culturally and linguistically diverse groups, through tailored care
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting
- Strong clinical problem-solving skills and knowledge of mental health care
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
- Cultural awareness and an inclusive approach to patient care
