About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Clarence Correctional Centre. As a Registered Nurse - Mental Health, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive mental health assessments, referrals, and case management to patients. You will work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring rehabilitation, safety, and security within the correctional system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary care based on a patient-centered model, allowing patients to actively participate in their health management while collaborating closely with correctional staff.
  • Educate custodial patients on healthy living and lifestyle choices.
  • Assist with reintegration into the community and ensure continuity of care.
  • Address the diverse needs of custodial patients, including men, women, and culturally and linguistically diverse groups, through tailored care.

Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Strong clinical problem-solving skills and knowledge of mental health care.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
