Job Title: Volunteer - Pantry Delivery Driver

We are seeking a volunteer to join our team as a Pantry Delivery Driver. This role is responsible for delivering food to our clients across London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive between food collection points and St Giles Pantry sites safely and efficiently.
  • Load the vehicle in line with food safety and manual handling regulations.
  • Maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness, report incidents, and react calmly to traffic or other scenarios.
  • Represent St Giles by driving responsibly, following health and safety policies, and adhering to food safety standards.

Requirements:

  • A full and valid driving licence (applicants must be 25 or older)
  • Physically fit to manually load heavy items
  • Experience in van delivery, preferably in food distribution and chilled vehicles
  • Food safety and hygiene qualification or willingness to obtain one
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Awareness of safety issues related to driving, loading, and unloading

About This Role:

This role is perfect for individuals who are physically fit, proactive, and organized with experience of working in a van delivery role, preferably in food distribution and use of chilled vehicles.
