About This Role

We're seeking a skilled professional to join our team in Brisbane as a Management Accountant. This is a full-time permanent position that will drive performance and support strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with budget holders/managers, providing expert consultation on complex finance matters;
  • Effectively manage and coordinate the annual budget process and complete regular forecasts during the financial year;
  • Develop comprehensive income and cost models for strategic projects, campaigns and initiatives, and provide insightful reporting for ROI and benefit analysis;
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to Executives and Managers on Ministry performance and understand key drivers and variances;
  • Manage all aspects of the financial disbursement process and build strong relationships with external partners;
  • Develop and implement a cost allocation methodology;
  • Ensure compliance with and effective communication of the Delegation of Authority Policy and other relevant policies and procedures;
  • Continuously improve systems and processes relating to budgets, forecasts and management reporting through the use of technology and robust processes.
Your Qualifications:

A recognised qualification by a Professional Accounting Body in Australia – CPA, CA or CIMA (Essential)

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business (Essential)

In-depth experience in preparing budgets and forecast, 5 years minimum

Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and standards

Highly proficient in: managing budget and forecast processes and models, analysis and variance investigation, management reporting both verbal and written; advisory, negotiation, consultation and influencing skills
