The role involves diagnosing dental diseases using various methods, providing preventative oral health care, restorative oral care, oral surgical treatments, routine orthodontic treatment, and restoring oral function with removable and fixed oral prostheses.
To be successful in this role, you must possess a Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent qualification recognized by the Australian Dental Board. You should also have full registration with AHPRA and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing dental diseases using radiographs, salivary tests, and medical histories.
- Providing preventative oral health care, periodontal treatments, fluoride applications, and oral health promotion.
- Providing restorative oral care, implants, complex crown and bridge restorations, orthodontics, repairing damaged and decayed teeth.
- Performing routine orthodontic treatment.
- Restoring oral function with removable and fixed oral prostheses.
- Assisting in diagnosing general diseases having oral manifestations such as diabetes.
- Educating patients to take care of their mouth and teeth.
