Role Summary
As a Vocational Education Teacher specializing in Youth Work programs (Certificate III & Diploma in Youth Work), your primary responsibilities will include:
- Delivering course content effectively and assessing student performance.
- Supervising students enrolled in designated courses within the School.
- Participating in ongoing reviews and enhancements of course materials and teaching methodologies, including online delivery.
- Collaborating with external organizations, industry stakeholders, and RMIT faculty and administrative staff.
- Engaging in professional development activities to maintain and enhance vocational competencies relevant to the educational standards.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Proven interpersonal and communication abilities suitable for educational and consultancy settings, including strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience in competency-based assessment practices.
- Current and relevant vocational expertise that aligns with the educational standards being taught and assessed.
- Significant industry experience and comprehensive knowledge in the relevant discipline.
- Aptitude for identifying and addressing learning challenges faced by students, along with implementing effective solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a proactive and constructive team member.
- Proficiency in utilizing relevant information and communication technologies.
Essential Qualifications
- Teaching experience and industry involvement.
- Possession of the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- For appointments at Teacher classification 3.1 or higher, a professional teaching qualification at AQF Level 5 Diploma or above, including supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology, is required.
Additional Information
All appointments are subject to successful completion of a Working with Children and National Police Check.
