Editorial Leadership Opportunity

The Magazine Editor role is a senior position that oversees the entire editorial process, from conceptualization to publication.

As the lead editor, you will be responsible for managing freelance contributors, ensuring timely content delivery, and making strategic decisions regarding article selection and imagery. Your primary objective is to elevate the magazine's content value through effective budget management, collaboration with the Content Lead, and coordination with the design team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive editorial strategies to align with business goals.
  • Mentoring freelance contributors and guiding them in delivering high-quality content.
  • Overseeing the sourcing, editing, and finalization of articles and images for each issue.
  • Collaborating with the Content Lead to ensure the magazine's direction remains cohesive with overall vision.
  • Working closely with the design team to support the magazine's visual identity.
  • Conducting regular assessments of current practices and proposing improvements for enhanced content quality and operational efficiency.
  • Supporting revenue creation through collaboration with the Sales and Marketing team.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in an editor or assistant editor capacity.
  • Strong background in magazine editing and content operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
  • Enthusiasm about RV travel, lifestyle, and related content is advantageous.
