Tonkin is seeking a highly technical Design Drafter to join their East Coast Water Team.

The successful candidate will deliver civil and mechanical design documentation for water infrastructure projects across Queensland, New South Wales, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting design and drafting work across civil, mechanical, and structural disciplines for water infrastructure projects.
  • Preparing process and mechanical design documentation using software tools.
  • Working closely with engineers to develop practical designs for water projects.
  • Applying skills in designing water infrastructure, including pipelines and pump stations.
  • Using software to produce accurate drawings and improve drafting workflows.

Achievements of this role include

  • 3–5 years' experience in civil design, preferably in water infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of water design, including pipelines and pump stations.
  • Proficiency in 12d or Civil3D and AutoCAD for infrastructure projects.
  • Willingness to work on varied projects and learn new technical aspects.
  • Good organisational skills to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Exposure to Inventor 3D, Revit, Plant 3D, or GIS tools.

This role is based at the Brisbane CBD office with flexible work arrangements possible.
