About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist General Adult Specialist to join our team at Mediix. As a key member of our Psychiatry Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients with a range of mental health conditions.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Medical Board of Australia with Specialist registration in Psychiatry or appropriate registration with the Medical Board of Australia to practise in the specialist position.
  • Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship via the substantial comparability pathway of the Royal Australian College and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).
  • Demonstrated high level of clinical knowledge, proficiency, and skills in the area of General Adult Psychiatry, with the ability to work in relative isolation.
  • High level of assessment, investigations, treatment, consultation, and referral skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and provide psychiatric care within a multidisciplinary environment, to build and maintain appropriate relationships with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and develop models of service delivery and clinical practice that encourages early intervention and prevention.
  • Knowledge of and proven ability to implement contemporary professional practice theories, evidence-based assessments and treatment approaches within an integrated and constructive format for the benefit of clients and their families in the mental health context.
  • Proven ability to apply established ethical principles and practice standards to core clinical services and routine tasks.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire the skill to provide guidance to less experienced staff members and education to students.
