Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and organising the preparation and cooking of food at our restaurant. This will include planning menus in consultation with the restaurant manager and owners, estimating costs, and ensuring food supplies are ordered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food at our restaurant.
  • Estimate costing specifically for various menu options and be responsible for estimating general food and labour costs throughout the restaurant.
  • Be responsible for ensuring food supplies are ordered appropriately for optimal business effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate techniques and show cooking procedures to kitchen staff.
  • Prepare and cook food to the highest standard.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher with 2 years previous experience as a Cook/Chef in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure hygiene standards and food preparation standards are strictly adhered to.
  • Select and train staff as necessary.
  • Able to work well with team, and also independently.
  • Must be able to work shift work, including nights and weekends.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia will be preferred.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum.
